Het heeft even geduurd, maar hier is dan de beschrijving hoe je vierkantjes aan elkaar kunt haken met de Train Track Join.
Op Instagram heb ik een poll gehouden over de naam, en deze kwam als winnaar uit de bus, waarschijnlijk omdat het echt een beetje lijkt op spoorrails.
En het klinkt wel lekker eigenwijs, toch?
Je kunt deze manier op verschillende manieren toepassen. Afhankelijk van hoeveel vasten je tussendoor haakt en hoe groot je de lusjes maakt, worden de 'rails' oftewel de ruimtes ertussen groter of kleiner.
It took a while, but here is how you join granny squares with the Train Track Join.
On Instagram I did a poll on the name, and this was the most popular one, probably because it resembles it so much.
And it sounds a bit crazy too doesn't it haha.
You can use this join in several ways. It depends on how many single crochets you use in between and how big you make the loops, that makes the spaces in between smaller or bigger.
Laten we beginnen.
De basis bestaat uit 2 lusjes van 3 lossen (of meer dus, als je een grotere ruimte ertussen wilt) in elke hoek, en langs de zijden groepjes van 1 of 2 vasten, gevolgd door een lusje.
Het voorbeeld hieronder (roze rand) is een standaard grannysquare, en het is natuurlijk wel zo leuk als de verbinding dan precies boven de openingen valt, vandaar dat ik hier koos voor om en om een vaste en een lusje.
"0" staat voor het eerste hoeklusje, dat bij de vorige zijde hoort;
"1" staat voor het tweede hoeklusje, dat bij déze zijde hoort;
in "2" en "4" komt een vaste en in "3" en "5" een lusje.
Misschien is het opgeschreven niet zo heel duidelijk, vandaar het schema hieronder, en waarom ik ook een video heb gemaakt:
So let's start.
The basis consists of 2 loops of 3 chains (or like I said more, if you want a bigger space) in every corner, and on the sides groups of 1 or 2 single crochets (sc, American) followed by a loop.
The next example (pink edging) is a standard granny square, and it looks best if you connect right above the openings, that's why I choose for 1 sc in between in this example.
"0" stands for the first loop in the corner, which belongs to the previous side;
"1" is the second loop in the corner, which belongs to this side;
in "2" and "4" you crochet a sc, and in "3" and "5" a loop.
Maybe it's not so clear written down, so therefore the diagra which you can find a bit below, and I made a video about it too:
In het tweede voorbeeld (witte rand) staan "0" en "7" voor de hoeken, en heb je 6 steken te verdelen.
Ik vond het 't leukst om het een beetje luchtig te houden met steeds 2 vasten tussen de verbindingen, maar bij dit vierkantje heb je dan heb je een steek teveel, dus ik sloeg steeds "1" over.
Dus: in "2", "3", "5" en "6" een vaste, en in "4" een lusje van 3 lossen.
In elke hoekopening haak je (hv, 3 l, hv, 3 l, hv).
Aan elke zijkant haak je tot de volgende hoek steeds: 2 v, in de volgende steek (hv, 3 l, hv), of zoals in het voorbeeld met de roze rand: v, in de vlgd st (hv, 3 l, hv).
In the second example (white edging) "0" and "7" stand for the corners, and you need to divide 6 stitches.
I thought a bit airy would look best, that's why I chose for 2 sc in between.
But then you have 1 stitch too many, so I skipped "1" on every side.
That means a sc in "2", "3", "5" and "6", and a loop of 3 chains in "4".
In every corner you crochet (slip stitch or slst, chain or ch 3, slst, ch 3, slst).
On every side: 2 sc, in the next stitch: (slst, ch 3, slst) until you reach the corner or like in the example with the pink edging: sc, in the next stitch: (slst, ch 3, slst).

Here it might be a bit more clear where to connect:
Put the two back sides together. Crochet a chain, put your hook through the loop of the first square. Pull the thread through the loop and finish the sc. Crochet another chain and a slip stitch in the opening of the second square.

Vergeet niet om na de laatste verbinding in de hoek nog een lusje van 3 lossen te haken, deze is voor de zijkant.
Don't forget to crochet another loop of 3 chains in the corner after connecting the last loop, this one is for the other side.
Je kunt nu verder met het tegenoverliggende of ernaast liggende vierkant. Dat maakt bij deze manier van aan elkaar haken niet uit, omdat je ze 1 voor 1 aan elkaar maakt.
You can continue on the opposite or adjacent side, it doesn't matter really with this join, because you attach one by one.

In het voorbeeld met de witte rand zie je hoe ik meteen een uiteindje meehaak, dat scheelt straks een hoop draadjes wegwerken!
In the example with the white edging you can see how I take along an end while crocheting, this saves a lot of sewing in ends later on!

Je kunt steeds tussendoor besluiten of je project groot genoeg is, omdat je vierkant per vierkant bevestigt.
You can make your project as big as you wish, deciding as you go, because you attach one square at a time.
