Misschien heb je het al wel gezien, op de website van By Claire, of op Instagram: ik heb een leuke pothoes ontworpen.
Ik had al heel lang een saaie witte plantenpot in de kast staan, en vanwege het mariekondowen ;-) stond ik eigenlijk op het punt om hem naar de kringloopwinkel te brengen.
Nou had ik al een paar jaar geleden een geruit kleedje gehaakt voor in de poezenmand (dat nu echt niet meer toonbaar is maar waar nog heel dankbaar gebruik van wordt gemaakt), en die manier van haken bleef maar door mijn hoofd spoken.
Je raadt het al, 1 en 1 werd 2, en zie daar, de plantenpothoes.

Maybe you have seen it already, on the website of By Claire, or on Instagram: I designed a tartan pot cover.
I had this boring plain pot in a cupboard and since I've been Marie-Kondoing like mad, I wanted to bring it to the thriftshop.
The case is that I made a cat blanket a few years ago (sorry, too worn out to show it, but it is still very much loved), and the method I used for that kept playing around in my mind. So you guessed it already, 1 and 1 became two, and there it was, the plant pot cover.
Het blijft grappig hoe dat gaat met inspiratie!
Ik was ondertussen namelijk ook bezig met wat kleine vierkantjes, maar had nog helemaal geen idee wat ik ermee wilde doen. Het was een soort bezigheidstherapie, iets wat ik gedachtenloos voor de televisie kon doen.
Maar ja, die vierkantjes waren toch wel errug klein, dus begon ik ze maar alvast aan elkaar te haken in de hoop op inspiratie voor wat het zou gaan worden.
Ik weet eigenlijk niet meer hoe, maar opeens was daar ook een manier van aan elkaar haken die ik nergens anders heb gezien, de #traintrackjoin (ben al druk bezig met de tutorial daarvoor).
Tja, en aangezien ik helemaal in de sfeer was van pothoezen, vond ik dus ook een bestemming voor de kleine vierkantjes: die glazen pot die ook op de nominatie stond om weggebracht te worden.
It's funny how it works with inspiration!
In the meanwhile I was also working on some mini circle squares, although I didn't know what to do with them yet. It was just to keep my hands occupied in front of the tv. But those squares were too small for a big project, so I started joining them hoping to get some inspiration on what to make with them.
I can't remember what I did exactly, but suddenly there was a new way of joining that I haven't seen anywhere else: the #traintrackjoin (already working on a tutorial for that one too).
So, since my mind was occupied by plant pot covers, I found a destination for those small squares: the round glass jar that was nominated for the thriftshop too.
Maar goed, terug naar de geruite hoes.
Ik had al een tijdje wat By Claire Softmix in een mand liggen, en dat was er perfect voor. Het is wat dikker katoen, dus heel goed voor woonaccessoires.
Nog een beetje Sparkle erbij voor wat pizzazz, en je kunt helemaal los gaan met kleurencombinaties, perfect voor wat afwisseling in je interieur. Ik heb inmiddels 3 versies gemaakt, welke vind jij het leukst?
But anyway, back to the tartan cover.
I had some By Claire Softmix lying around in a basket, and it was perfect for it. It's thicker cotton, so really good for interior accessories.
Add a bit of Sparkle for some pizzazz, and you can go crazy with all the colour combinations for an easy change in your interior. I've made 3 versions already, which one do you like best?
