Amigurumi Christmas Baubles for the Granny Christmas Tree

As promised, the translation for the tiny
Amigurumi Christmas Baubles
that go well together with the Granny Christmas Tree that I designed for byClaire&Friends, see my last post.

I made the baubles with byClaire Cotton and Sparkle. The design is in cooperation with byClaire and only intended for personal use, and not commercially.

What do you need:
- byClaire Cotton and Sparkle. You don't need much, it's perfect for your scraps
- crochet hook size 3
- scissors

Used abbreviations (U.S.):
slst = slip stitch
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet

The inside is crocheted with byClaire Cotton.
Start with a magic ring.
In the ring you make 6 clusters* of 3 dc, followed by a ch. End with a slst in the top of the first cluster. Fasten off.

The outside is crocheted with byClaire Sparkle.
Start with 12 dc in a magic circle (the 1st dc = ch 3), slst in the 1st dc, ch 1.
Put the 2 backsides together and attach them to each other by crocheting sc. One sc in every stitch of the 2 halves together:
Crochet in the whole stitch of the Sparkle side (the back side), plus in the back loop of the Cotton (front side).
After about 7 stitches you push the ends in between the 2 halves.**
Fasten off with a slst in the next stitch and cut at appr. 10 cm. You sew the bauble to the tree with this end.
Push the front inwards if you haven't done this already.

*How do you make a cluster:
It's really just 3 dc that you don't finish completely.
So: yarn over, put your hook in the ring and yarn over again, pull your hook through the first 2 loops on your hook.
~Yarn over, put your hook in the ring, yarn over, pull your hook through the first 2 loops on your hook (so now you have 3 loops on your hook)~.
Repeat ~...~ one more time so you have 4 loops on your hook and then you pull the thread through all 4 loops at once.
N.b. The first dc of the first cluster consists of 2 chains, followed by 2 half-finished dc, and therefore you only pull through 3 loops at once at the end.

** I crochet with Clover Amour hooks, and the back side of it is perfect for pushing in the ends. You could also use a chopstick for example.

Kleine Halve Glitter Kerstbal - Little Half Glitter Bauble

  For English scroll down please!

Crocheted Tartan Plant Pot Cover - Gehaakte Geruite Plantenpothoes

A couple of years ago I made this tutorial for byClaire & Friends.  It seemed the link didn't work anymore, and I wanted to translate it into English anyway, so here is the revised version. I hope you like it! If you would like the Dutch version, you can find it here: https://byclaire.eu/byclaire-friends-2 . This tutorial is for a pot with a diameter of 23 cm and hight 21 cm, but you can adjust it to a different size. If you want to make a swatch: crochet 1 square with 2 stripes on one side and at the top. Now you can measure how many you need for your pot, and maybe use a different size hook if you want smaller or bigger squares, or when you're using a different size yarn. For some more tips, please scroll down to the remarks underneath the pattern. What do you need: I used hook size 6 (and size 3 for hiding the ends), 2 balls of byClaire Softmix for the main colour, 1 ball of Softmix as the secondary colour and 1 ball of byClaire Sparkle. Used stitches: ch = chain slst = ...

ByClaire&Friends Granny Christmas Tree

It's only 7 weeks to Christmas, and not so much time for preparations anymore haha!  That is if you're like me, and you're too busy with other stuff, and then suddenly it's Christmas next week but you haven't even posted the Christmas cards yet... So I thought, let's change that and start early this year. The thing that has been on my to-do-list since last Christmas (yup!) is to translate the pattern for the Granny Christmas Tree which I designed for byClaire&Friends. ByClaire Softmix and Sparkle are just perfect yarns for it, and you can buy it here  if it is not available nearby you. The design is in cooperation with byClaire and only intended for personal use, not commercially. With that in mind I'll share the pattern in English here, please visit Claire's website for the free download of the original pattern in Dutch, the diagram and more photos. What do you need? - 1 ball of byClaire Softmix in the colour of your...
