Hoi allemaal / Hi everyone,
Vorig jaar postte ik op Instagram een video over hoe je makkelijk de draad uit het midden van je bol garen kunt halen.
En die mag dus niet missen op mijn blog!
Het lukt niet met al het garen, maar ik probeer het wel altijd, want het werkt zoveel lekkerder als je bol niet meer alle kanten op vliegt terwijl je bezig bent. En als je maar 1 bol garen hebt, kun je zo toch met een dubbele draad haken of breien.
Dus hier komt 'ie:

It won't work with all yarn, but I always try, because it's so much easier to work with since the ball won't fly all over the place.
And another advantage is that you can crochet or knit with a double thread even if you only have one ball of yarn.

Als het niet zulk slim garen is als in het filmpje komt er een hele grote prop uit.
En als je dan niet zoveel draad nodig hebt wordt het een rommeltje als je je bol wilt opbergen (bij mij althans haha).
Geen nood haha, ook hier is een oplossing voor.
Begin aan de kant van de bol, en wikkel de draad steeds iets van 10 keer om een paar vingers en vouw dit dubbel. Stop dit terug in de bol. Zo komen er steeds kleine beetjes garen te voorschijn als je zachtjes aan het uiteinde trekt.
If the yarn is not winded properly a big lump will come out.
And if you only need a little bit it will become a mess when you want to stow your yarn (happens to me anyway haha).
But not to worry, there is a solution for this as well.
Start at the side of the ball, and wind the thread around your fingers about 10 times, fold this and put it back in the ball. This way you pull out little bits of yarn at a time when you pull slowly.
Wat je ook kunt doen is een gaatje maken in een deksel van een pot(-je) en hier je bol in doen. Schuur wel de scherpe randjes eraf met wat heel fijn schuurpapier, anders krijg je allemaal haaltjes in je draad.
Of gebruik een theepot zoals ik ergens voorbij zag komen op Pinterest, dat staat nog gezellig ook!
What you could do as well is make a whole in the lid of a jar and put your ball of yarn in it. You should sand down the edges though, otherwise it might tear your yarn.
Or you could use a teapot like I saw somewhere on Pinterest, it looks cute too!
En wat doe je met de restjes?
Geef ze aan de vogels voor wat vrolijk nestmateriaal, of gebruik ze om je amigurumi te vullen (eventueel in een oud pantykousje als de kleuren niet overeenkomen).

And what do you do with the ends?
You can give them to the birds for some colourful nest making, or use them to fill your amigurumi!
(If the colours don't match, you can put them in an old pantyhose first...)
