Vind je dat ook zo irritant? Ben je lekker aan het haken of breien, vliegt je bol wol alle kanten op als je aan het draadje trekt. Dit gebeurt niet als je het draadje vanuit het midden gebruikt, maar dit is niet altijd makkelijk te vinden, en dan trek je de hele bol uit elkaar.
Maar daar is een oplossing voor, je kunt namelijk je bol zelf zo oprollen. Het enige wat je daarvoor nodig hebt is een gebruikte rol keukenfolie.
Do you find this annoying too? You're crocheting or knitting away, but your ball just flies everywhere when you pull the thread. This won't happen when you use the wool from the centre, but this end is not always easy to find, and then you tear apart your ball completely.
Not to worry, there is a solution for this. The only thing you need is a finished roll of kitchen foil.
Maak een inkeping met een mesje, en klem de wol erin. Laat ongeveer 5 centimeter in de rol hangen, dat is straks je begin.
Houd de rol vast in je linkerhand als je rechts bent en in je rechterhand als je links bent. Rol de draad om de houder heen, de eerste 10 keer kruislings.
Use a knife to make a cut, leave a tail in the roll and clamp the thread in the cut. Keep the roll in your left hand when you're righthanded and in your right hand when you're lefthanded. Roll the thread around the holder, the first ten times crosswise.
Na de eerste slagen kun je 1 kant op blijven draaien met de hand die de rol vastheeft, draai de draad met je andere hand steeds mee. Blijf rollen, het zal steeds makkelijker gaan.
After the first ten turns you can keep turning one way with the hand that holds the roll, and use your other hand to guide the thread around the roll. Keep turning, it will be getting easier and easier.
Als je bijna aan het eind bent, rol je het laatste beetje om het midden en draai je het uiteinde onder de laatste paar slagen.
Tadaa, klaar!
When you're nearly at the end of your thread, you roll the last bit around the middle and twist the end underneath the last few turns.
Tadaa, finished!
